Andrew Pursell, Luthier

Andrew has dedicated more than past decade to making and repairing stringed instruments. He used to work at Wilson fine violins in Birmingham, MI for 10 years where he served as repair manager. To bring this excellent service to more musicians, he founded Bayberry Music, LLC with his buddy Joel.

Working on stringed instruments is a natural fit for Andrew, given his love of woodworking, fine handicraft, and his audio-enthusiast background. He holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. The scientific method and requisite precision are evident in everything he does. No detail is too small to catch his attention.

Musically, your passion is his passion. Andrew works with professional musicians, folk players, teachers, and students to identify the sound they're seeking, and manifests that in the most visually compelling instruments. His professional, kind, and patient service combined with his masterful level of craftsmanship makes Andrew an ideal ally in your quest for the perfect instrument.
